Executive Director Position Summary

Hopebound Ministries is seeking a qualified individual passionate about leading and serving others with a demonstrated capacity for positively impacting the community. Based in Moon Township, Pennsylvania the Executive Director of Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs (MNP) will be a proven and passionate leader who is driven to make a difference in the lives of the children and families of the Mooncrest community. 

MNP operates under the oversight of Hopebound Ministries. MNP’s mission is to recognize the dignity and beauty of each person while promoting the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of the children and families living in the Mooncrest neighborhood. The Executive Director will affirm and promote Catholic spiritual identity, mission, and supports the Felician Sisters' Core Values for ministry: Respect for Human Dignity, Justice and Peace, Compassion, Transformation, and Solidarity with People in Need. The Executive Director leadership role involves strategic planning, overseeing program operations, ensuring fiscal management, fundraising, staff leadership, and community relations to ensure growth, compliance, and sustainability.

Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs

Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs was founded in 2002 by Sr. Renee Procopio to serve the children of the Mooncrest neighborhood. MNP has grown to include a wide range of programs and services for children, adults, and families and carries on in the Felician spirit to “serve where needed”. MNP continues to address unmet community needs through afterschool and summer programming for youth, food access programs, family support programs, and access to health and maternal health services through strong and vibrant community partnerships. Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs is a program of Hopebound Ministries, Inc., which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Felix of Cantalice, Our Lady of Hope Province (“Felician Sisters”).

Hopebound Ministries supports emerging social service programs founded by Felician Sisters. Hopebound equips sustainable, deeply rooted programs instilled with the Felician Core Values as we collaborate to promote flourishing in the communities we serve. Primary Responsibilities

As Executive Director, you will report directly to the President of Hopebound Ministries, Inc. and be responsible for leading MNP in implementing strategy.

  • Mission and Strategic Alignment: Abides by the Felician Core Values for Ministry and collaborates with Mooncrest’s Mission Leader to promote Catholic heritage and values. Develop and implement strategic goals, objectives, and overall plans, and ensure mission integration within MNP’s activities. Establish strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information.
  • Program and Compliance Oversight: Responsibilities include maintaining a professional environment, managing programs in compliance with regulations, assessing and reporting on effectiveness, exploring expansion opportunities, and adhering to corporate compliance standards.
  • Fiscal and Fundraising Management: The role oversees budget preparation, forecasting program needs, financial controls, purchasing, and reporting, while also developing and executing fundraising strategies, securing and stewarding resources, managing grants, and cultivating donor relationships.
  • Staff and Community Leadership: Ensuring competent staffing through recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and development, representing MNP in the community, building strategic partnerships, and maintaining accountability to Hopebound Ministries.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Four (4) year bachelor's degree required in education, social services, public health or related study with a graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum Experience: Five to seven years working with nonprofit or community agencies administering a variety of programs, preferably in a faith-based environment
  • Excellent written/oral communication and comprehensive skills
  • Deductive reasoning skills with the ability to evaluate data/situations, make decisions, and solve problems  
  • Demonstrated leadership, especially in developing and implementing mission through strategic planning, effective programming, and staff supervision (3 years minimum)
  • Proven fundraising experience from various sources including Individuals, Campaigns, Foundations, Governments, Corporations, and Major Donors
  • Successful experience in recruiting and developing a workforce, both employee and volunteer, that is focused on effectively accomplishing organization objectives
  • Experience offering compassionate service to vulnerable populations
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated analytical ability that results in strategies to translate mission into effective programs
  • The ability to manage confidentiality
  • Highly organized/detail-oriented with good administrative, office, and computer skills and software (Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Adobe)
  • Prior donor database management skills and experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and/or mentor others
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills preferred
  • An understanding of how to effectively build, maintain, and inspire teams
  • Demonstrated ability in effectively engaging diverse communities
  • A commitment to the Felician core values for service


Work Environment

  • This position may require early morning, evening or weekend work or a longer workday as necessary.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel independently by car for work and have reliable transportation.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed the training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the standards of PA Act 153.
  • AED, CPR, and First Aid Certifications within 90 days of employment
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds.

Position Status:              Full-Time, Exempt

Position Availability:       Immediate

Compensation:               $80,000 - $90,000 annually depending upon experience
